🎬 PART 2: «Why Her Son Pretended to Throw Her Away»

Rose read the note again.

Her hands started shaking.

For months, she had believed her son no longer wanted her.

His wife had called her a burden.

Meals disappeared from her room.

Her medicine went missing.

And every time Rose complained, her daughter-in-law smiled and said,

“Your son thinks you’re confused.”

Rose kept reading.

I found the bank statements.

Her breath caught.

She’s been taking your pension and telling me you spent it.

Rose sank into the chair.

There was more.

Tonight she asked me to sign papers putting your house in her name.

Tears ran down Rose’s face.

Then came the sentence that shattered her.

I acted cruel because she was watching us. If she knew I believed you, she would never let you leave safely.

Suddenly, someone knocked at the door.

Rose froze.

Three slow knocks.

Then her son’s voice came through the wood.

“Mom?”

She opened the door.

He stood there soaked from the rain.

No anger now.

Just tears.

“I’m sorry.”

Rose touched his face.

“You believed me?”

He nodded.

“I should have believed you sooner.”

Then headlights appeared outside.

A car stopped across the street.

His expression changed.

He stepped between Rose and the window.

“She followed me.”

Rose’s face went pale.

Her son took her hand.

“That money isn’t the only thing in the sack.”

He reached inside and pulled out a small recorder.

“I got her confession.”

He looked toward the car outside.

“And this time, Mom…”

His grip tightened around her hand.

“…she doesn’t get to make either of us look crazy again.”
