🎬 PART 2: «His Wife Knew Who the Boy Really Was»

The man stared at his wife.

“What does he mean?”

She shook her head too quickly.

“I don’t know.”

The boy stood from the piano.

“Yes, you do.”

Her eyes snapped toward him.

The man’s voice hardened.

“Who was his mother?”

The woman stepped back.

“This is ridiculous.”

The boy reached beneath his oversized jacket.

Then pulled out an old ring hanging from a string around his neck.

The man stopped breathing.

He knew it instantly.

“I gave that to my daughter.”

The boy nodded.

“My mother.”

Silence crushed the hallway.

The man looked at him again.

Really looked at him.

His eyes.

His face.

The tiny familiar expression around his mouth.

His voice came out broken.

“You’re her son?”

The boy swallowed hard.

“She told me you thought she ran away.”

The man’s eyes filled.

“That’s what I was told.”

The boy looked at the woman in white.

“She made sure you believed it.”

The woman gasped.

“That’s a lie.”

The boy shook his head.

“My mom kept every letter she tried to send you.”

The man turned slowly toward his wife.

“You told me she never contacted me.”

The woman’s lips trembled.

“I was protecting this family.”

His face crumpled.

“From my own daughter?”

The boy’s eyes filled now.

“She waited for you for years.”

The man looked back at him.

The boy touched the ring around his neck.

“She taught me that song because she said if I ever found you, you’d recognize it.”

The man’s knees nearly gave out.

Then the boy delivered the truth his mother had carried to her grave.

“She didn’t disappear.”

His voice broke.

“Your wife paid her to leave… and told her you never wanted to see her again.”
