🎬 PART 2: «The Daughter They Said Never Survived»

The older woman’s knees nearly gave way.

The woman in green looked between them.

“Mom… what is she talking about?”

But her mother couldn’t answer.

She walked toward the server slowly, tears already filling her eyes.

“Where did you get that name?”

The server reached beneath her collar and pulled out a tiny silver pendant.

The older woman covered her mouth.

Inside was an old photograph of two newborn girls.

The woman in green stared at it.

Her voice became small.

“That’s me.”

The server nodded through tears.

“And me.”

Silence swallowed the ballroom.

The mother began shaking.

“They told me only one of you survived.”

The server’s face crumpled.

“I was raised in foster homes believing nobody came for me.”

The woman in green stepped backward.

“No…”

The server looked at the sister who had just struck her.

“I came tonight because I finally found you.”

Her sister’s eyes filled with tears.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

The server touched the bruise on her cheek.

“I was going to.”

Her voice broke.

“Then you slapped me before I could say your name.”

Their mother reached for both daughters.

But the server looked at her first.

“One question.”

The older woman froze.

The server held up the pendant.

“If you believed I died…”

Her eyes shifted toward a terrified man standing silently among the guests.

“…why did your husband pay the orphanage to change my name?”
